Introduction to Beginner Basics - Shapes & Techniques
Beginner Basics - techniques and shapes.
Join Jeri Warhaftig over 12 video lessons as she teaches how to achieve symmetrical crisp shapes in soft glass - the perfect canvases for your beads. Then, review with her (or perhaps experience for the first time) the basic techniques she teaches in all of her beginning beadmaking classes.
The core of this class is troubleshooting. How do I avoid common pitfalls through great technique, but when my technique isn't quite dialed in, how do I fix where a bead has gone wrong? If you are a total beginner, this class will help you develop successful habits. But even if you have been at the torch for a while, this class will help you see the source of your struggles and help you overcome them! Wonky holes, off-center bicones, truly round beads and pendants are all on the table!
In the second part of the class, Jeri moves on to techniques. Even an intermediate beadmaker will encounter helpful tips and newer bead makers will have an entirely new toolbox on which to draw. Each unit's beads introduce new skills such as twisties, encasing, dots and pendants. Although Jeri will show off special materials and tools, nothing unusual is needed to successfully complete her projects. This part of the class can be seen as a bundle of tutorials.
Each video is a freestanding lesson. Binge them all, follow along, or, best of all, watch and then PRACTICE. There is no substitute for practice (yet!). This class remains available to you for one year.
